Support for Our Armed Forces Community at Tudor Practice

Are you a Veteran? Help us to help you.

At Tudor Practice, we are proud to be an Accredited Armed Forces Veteran Friendly GP Practice.

Whether you served for a single day or a full career, as a regular or a reservist, you are a veteran. Identifying yourself to our team ensures we can provide you with the most appropriate care and access to specialist NHS pathways.

Please let our reception team know you are a veteran, or send us a message via patchs to update your record. We will add a “Military Veteran” code to your medical notes.

The Armed Forces Covenant: Our Commitment to You

As a veteran-friendly surgery, we uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant. This means:

  • Specialist Referrals: We can refer you to dedicated services such as Op COURAGE (Mental Health) and Op RESTORE (Physical Health).
  • Priority Care: In line with NHS policy, veterans may receive priority treatment for health conditions related to their service, subject to the clinical needs of other patients.
  • Trained Staff: Our clinicians and administrative staff understand the specific health challenges that can result from military service.

Our Veteran Health Lead

Tudor Practice has a designated Clinical Lead for Veteran Health. They ensure our surgery remains up to date with the latest military health research and that our referral pathways are effective.

Support from our Social Prescriber

Clinical care is only one part of the picture. As a Tudor patient, you have access to our Social Prescribing Link Worker. They specialise in “non-medical” support and can help you with:

  • Connecting with local veterans’ social groups.
  • Accessing welfare, housing, or financial advice.
  • Finding support for families and carers of veterans.

To book a chat with our Social Prescriber, please request a referral via reception or during your next GP appointment.
